Sommernachts Ständchen

Sommernachts-Ständchen (Evening Summer Serenade) was composed by Kurt Köhler. The sub-title – Wenn alle schlafen – (While everybody is asleep) might suggest that the composer suffers from insomnia. This idea however is quickly refuted by the lyrics of the piece. When we are to believe the librettist, the composer thinks of something completely different than sleeping....
