Barcarolle
$6.50
While in Italy, you may hear the Venetian gondoliers sing out loud while traversing the canals of Venice with their gondolas (and rip you off at the same time, in the same charming way). These folk songs inspired many musicians to compose a Barcarole (in French: Barcarolle).
Jacques Offenbach wrote one of the most famous barcaroles, his Belle nuit, o nuit d’amour. That’s a mouth full for such a short boat trip, so we decided to shorten it a bit and name it: Barcarolle.
The arrangement consists of a score, parts for piano, violin and cello.
We’re quite sure you know the song.
Check out the first two pages pages of the score to see for yourself.
